Banyan Group Bolsters Growth in East China with Banyan Tree and Garrya Yangcheng Lake in Suzhou, Garrya Xianju in Taizhou
Banyan Group is pleased to announce the next milestone in its strategic multi-brand expansion across East China with the opening of Banyan Tree Yangcheng Lake, Garrya Yangcheng Lake, and Garrya Xianju. The three new resorts, catering to a diverse range of travellers, are poised to deliver experiences that bring out the cultural richness of Yangcheng Lake and serene beauty of Xianju, showcasing the unique sense of place that the destinations have to offer.
For three decades, Banyan Group has planted roots in awe-inspiring destinations around the world, becoming stewards of the communities and environment that we operate our businesses in. The Banyan Tree and Garrya complex at Yangcheng Lake, and Garrya Xianju in Taizhou will mirror the same commitment, as we hope to inject vitality into the local economies and contribute to the growth of tourism in regional China.Philip Ding, Vice President and Head of Regional Operations – China, Banyan Group
Set against the picturesque Jiangnan landscape, the opening of the resort complex at Yangcheng Lake further strengthens Banyan Group’s footprint in the Yangtze River Delta region with its flagship Banyan Tree brand, and its fastest growing Garrya brand.
Banyan Tree Yangcheng Lake offers a sanctuary for the senses, where every detail has been meticulously crafted to create an experience of luxury and tranquillity, suited for guests seeking to explore, get inspired, or simply be. The 70 guest rooms and villas, with private hot spring pools on every terrace, are designed with a 'Dreaming Over the Lake' concept that is inspired by the poetic landscapes of Yangcheng Lake. Each room is a harmonious blend of contemporary elegance and traditional aesthetics, with expansive windows that frame the breath-taking views of the surrounding waters and greenery.
At the heart of the resort lies the award-winning Banyan Tree Spa, where guests can embark on a holistic wellbeing journey, enjoying treatments and experiences that are built on time-honoured Asian practices. Complementing the spa are an array of wellbeing facilities, including a state-of-the-art gym, soothing hot springs, and an indoor heated pool. For the epicurious, Mingyue All-Day Dining Restaurant and Baiyun Chinese Restaurant celebrate the rich flavours of the Jiangnan region with culinary experiences showcasing local specialties such as the famed hairy crabs, along with delicacies of the world.
Garrya Yangcheng Lake, situated on the eastern shore of the picturesque ‘Beauty’s Leg’ Peninsula, offers a quiet lakeside retreat suited to travellers looking for a respite amidst nature. Embodying a ‘Garden Fantasy’ theme, its 210 rooms and suites are designed with simplicity, complementing the dining establishments, spa and wellbeing facilities, and multifunctional spaces that the resort offers.
At its two restaurants, ‘Refresh’ and ‘Retreat’, guests can savour regional Chinese cuisines and a spread of international fare prepared with fresh produce from the resort’s own farm. For guests seeking to focus on self-care, Banyan Group’s 8LEMENTS Spa offers a peaceful haven for rest and relaxation with its treatment rooms and public hot springs, complete with a poetic ‘Orchid Pavilion’ theme. Young families will also find their needs catered to with a dedicated kids’ club, ensuring that all guests make the most of their time at the resort.
Garrya Xianju, Banyan Group’s inaugural resort in Taizhou, is nestled within the Shenxianju Scenic Area, against the backdrop of a graceful mountainscape. The 195-room resort offers an integrated stay experience suited to travellers with diverse preferences – catering to families and professionals, small or large groups alike. Each guest room features a private balcony with stunning views of the surrounding nature, ideal for quiet moments of contemplation and reflection.
Within the resort, an array of amenities enriches the stay experience – guests may savour traditional Jiangsu and Zhejiang snacks, as well as local Taizhou specialties and other international food at its two dining establishments, while enjoying the leisure and wellbeing facilities including a riverside pool, children’s club, yoga room, and treatments at 8LEMENTS Spa.
Earlier this year, Banyan Group announced the opening of its first complex in East China, comprising Banyan Tree Suzhou Shishan and Angsana Suzhou Shishan.
